Here’s a helpful tip especially for people who works regularly in front of a pc and who keeps confidential information on their workstation. Whenever i leave my workstation, i always forget to lock my pc keeping my desktop public and all the work that i’m doing. Before, i used to lock my workstation by hitting on CTRL+ALT+DEL plus mouse clicks. Now i can lock my pc with just a single click, double click for other users, and SIGH for some who can’t comprehend.
How? Follow the step by step process below:
1. RIGHT CLICK your mouse and select NEW >> then SHORTCUT
2. Enter “rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation” (without the quotes) in the location textbox.
3. CLICK CONTINUE
4. Type your desired name of the shortcut. Then Click Finish.
So there, the shortcut has been created. What now? Double click the shortcut if it works, if not, then you must’ve done a terrible job. Repeat the steps, and follow the instructions properly.
To get the single click action, drag the shortcut bar to the QUICK LAUNCH toolbar. Now if you’re not familiar with the toolbar, it’s the bar usually located next to the START button with lots of tiny icons on it that contains the “Show Desktop” icon, IE icon etc. If you’re successful with the move, everything should be ok. Try clicking on the shortcut icon on your quick launch toolbar to test. If it does not work, get a blade.. try committing suicide you moron!
If all else fails, just remember this keyboard shortcut: WINDOWS KEY + L and you’ll be fine.
But wait!
There’s more…
If you call within 10 minutes… nyahahaha!
Talking about keyboard shortcuts, here are some shortcuts that you may want to remember:
- WINDOWS KEY + D brings up the desktop
- WINDOWS KEY + TAB moves through the taskbar buttons
Slick huh!
